FINE LINE TATTOOS

What are Fine Line Tattoos…

Fine line tattoos create a very delicate, fine, and subtle design using tiny needles. This technique makes the tattoo lines appear thinner than usual and is excellent for minimalist work. At Pure Ink we specialize in pointillism shading, giving a tattoo the most delicate appearance possible.

Sometimes the smallest tattoos mean the most. All designs must be no larger than 6 x 6 in.

FAQ’S

Do fine line tattoos fade quickly?

Tattoos tend to fade and lose their vivid colors over the years. Tattoos on different parts of the body may also behave differently. Areas with a low percentage of fat (fingers, wrists, neck, ankles, elbows) will almost inevitably lose their former brightness over the years. Proper aftercare will help minimize the need for a touch-up early on.

Sun exposure/ tanning will also cause the tattoo to fade quicker. We encourage you to wear sunscreen to give more life to your tattoo. Touch-ups may be necessary every few years to keep your tattoo looking as “fresh” as possible.

Are fine Line Tattoos painful?

While there is some discomfort, it is minimal, and we use smaller needles during the process. The designs we are tattooing are relatively small, so even if you experience discomfort, it doesn’t last very long. The most painful areas are the ribs, spine, neck, ankles, hands, fingers, and feet. The fleshier areas hurt less.

Will I bleed during the tattoo?

It is not common to bleed during the procedure. There is minimal trauma to the area we are tattooing.

Will I need a Touch-Up?

Although a touch-up is not always needed, we offer a 6–8-week touch-up after your first session.

Is it possible to be allergic to the ink?

Yes, Black ink is the least likely to cause an allergic reaction. Red and yellow are the most problematic inks.
