SMP FOR ALOPECIA

WHAT IS SCALP MICROPIGMENTATION FOR ALOPECIA?

Alopecia is an autoimmune disease that causes hair to fall out. There are many types of alopecia, the ones we see the most are alopecia areata and alopecia totalis. Hair loss caused by alopecia areata generally occurs in patches. We can treat this in two ways; you can treat the patched areas or treat the entire scalp. With alopecia, the patches can come and go. Still, sometimes the patches connect, creating more extensive, more noticeable patches, or they can go and reappear in another area of the scalp. If this is the case, it is better the go for SMP on the entire scalp to help camouflage the patched areas. We do, however, advise you to see your dermatologist before having SMP treatment. It is not advised to treat active alopecia.
SMP does not attempt to cure alopecia hair loss but instead conceals the symptoms. We can guarantee results within the first session. This can help those with alopecia to regain their much-needed confidence and go on with their lives without worrying about their hair loss.

HOW CAN PURE INK SMP HELP?

Here at Pure Ink, we do everything we can to make you feel comfortable. We first will have a lengthy discussion about precisely what you want. Depending on your hair loss severity and the style you desire, the treatment can take about three to four sessions.

Our aim with SMP is to conceal the patches. In a lot of cases, it is best to treat the whole head as alopecia is unpredictable. If you have long hair, we will do our best to increase the hair density and disguise the patches.
